Shortly before Noon on Friday, an Allegheny County
Common Pleas Court Judge denied an injunction, sought
to delay implementation of a ten-percent tax on
poured-drinks in bars and restaurants in Allegheny
County. The new tax, approved by Allegheny County
Council on December 4 and signed-into law by Allegheny
County Chief Executive Dan Onorato on December 10, is
meant to provide local funding for public transit
services of the Port Authority of Allegheny County
(PAT).
