On Friday, Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court, by a 6-1
decision, dimissed the appeal of Philadelphia's
Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority
(SEPTA), in SEPTA's continuing attempt to eliminate
paper transfers from the transit system.

The City of Philadelphia had successfully obtained an
injunction, in Common Pleas Court in August, that
prevented SEPTA from eliminating transfers. SEPTA
appealed the case to Commonwealth Court.

Due to the fact that, in the intervening time, SEPTA
had raised the price of a transfer from 60 cents to 75
cents, Commonwealth Court ruled that SEPTA's appeal
was now moot.
