On the first weekday of 15 percent PAT transit cuts, the Allegheny County Executive, at a news conference, announced that Port Authority Transit could go-under financially, by mid-2012, if actions are not taken to reign-in health care costs, pension costs, and overtime rules. While transit service seemed orderly on this first weekday, some riders did report overcrowded buses, bus pass-ups, and other problems.
