Yesterday, Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) General Manager Joseph Casey announced that, without tolling of I-80, SEPTA will lose $120 million in capital funding per year, beginning next July.

I-80 tolls were to provide the majority of funding for SEPTA, PAT, and other state transit agencies when Act 44 passed the Pennsylvania General Assembly a few years ago. Without revenue from highway tolls, the money for public transit is no longer available.
