[Transit-allegheny] PAT 15% Service Cuts Take Effect; More in Sept.? 2008?

The first round of Port Authority Transit [PAT]
Service Cuts [15%] took effect Sunday, June 17, 2007.
Without additional funding, PAT officials warn that an
additional 10% in service cuts will be implemented on
September 2, with even more service cuts needed for
next year.

Hours of the PAT Downtown Service Center, and
Telephone Customer Service, are also decreasing on
June 17.

PAT fares are scheduled to increase on January 1,
although the level of increase has not been decided.
Fares on the ACCESS Paratransit System will increase
by 50 cents on July 1 [not by one dollar as originally
proposed].
